Don’t Buy: AOL Journals is closing

Dear AOL Journals User, (is that me?)

We’re sorry to inform you that on Oct. 31, 2008, AOL® Journals will be shut down permanently. (OH NO!) We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. (Is this some kind of a sick Halloween trick or treat? Knock-knock, who’s there?, AOL and we’re taking away your right to blog, boo!)

It’s very important that you save your Journals content before the shutdown. (Wait, I don’t even think I have an AOL Journals[sic?]) We’re working on a way to easily move your Journal to another blogging service — you can expect an email within the next week with more details about how to do it. (Please say Neopets blog, please say Neopets blog!)

In the meantime, please bookmark the People Connection Blog, where you can find out more about AOL Journals. [seriously, sic? Do I have multiple journalS on AOL? I don't remember ever having ONE]

Thank you for your patience and understanding as we make this transition. (fuck you very much, too)

Sincerely,

The AOL Journals Team [SIC]

LOL. For the record, you can’t export your AOL Journal to Dark Journal.
