It seems like Pepsi has decided to more or less kill themselves with their latest series of ads. And I say “kill themselves” because, well that’s what their ads are depicting.

Yeah. Great idea. Did they really think a suicidal calorie would go unnoticed (even though it was meant for German eyes only)? I guess so. But in a span of a few days after the ads reached the blogsphere, Pepsi pulled the ad campaign from ever being printed or published IRL. They then turned around and started to apologize. Noooo! Don’t pull it! Publish it, like the good old days! Chris Abraham from Ad Age got a personal apology from Pepsi (due to a tweet by Abraham) that went something like this:
I saw your tweet and I just wanted to make sure I responded personally. We agree this creative is totally inappropriate; we apologize and please know it won’t run again. Also, thanks for the feedback and the Digg, it is important to discuss these types of issues.
My best friend committed suicide and this is a topic very close to my heart. So again I offer my deepest apologies.
Feel free to follow-up via twitter to me - @boughb or Huw - @huwgilbert or respond to this email.

So what does this mean? Has Pepsi learned from their controversial ad? The best part… Nope. They then released another campaign slightly scandalous. Hooray!
It looks like their new logo design, the change in ad agency made them feel like streaking and killing themselves.
But here it comes: It is a buy for sure. It’s about time a company loses their mind. It makes it rather exciting to see how future superbowl commercials go or what else they are gonna do to keep this “racing” image they are painting going.
Really, I won’t be satisfied until they do an animal sexuality dance party commercial. And really, I won’t be happy until Coke rules the world.

Judging from the sign, that scandalous ad was shot on my street. SEXY
I love the style of the drawing in the first one. Annnnd I kind of think it’s funny. I guess I’m a sick horrible person. But they’re obviously doing all these so they can get free press…and I agree, Pepsi sucks, Coke all the way.
