Let’s say you want to celebrate the inauguration. Let’s say you want to do it by purchasing a large cardboard cutout of Barack Obama, preferably one where he’s smiling and looking agreeable. That way you can imagine he’s laughing at one of your jokes, or appointing you Commerce Secretary or inviting you to play touch football. You see one for sale on the internet. It’s only $32.99! How could you resist?

Resist, dear reader. For this is not a Barack Obama cutout at all. Rather, it is a cutout of a white man, with Barack Obama’s head photoshopped onto it. Look at the hands. Those are white man’s hands.

And here I thought that this situation was exactly what Barack Obama’s presidency was going to end.
