Buy Or Don’t Buy

It’s already fairly well-known that Chuck Bass (Ed Westwick in the real world) has a music “career“. But, he’s Chuck Bass and is allowed to do whatever he wants. And he’s secretly British.

But how about “Lil J” aka Taylor Momsen. She is in a band called Pretty Reckless (ugh). She sings. She’s also 16. I’m not going to be a complete hater, but she is, like, the worst character on the show. She is a hipstery, amateur fashionista from Brooklyn who would rather play board games with her family than hang out with the cool kids from school because she is just so over them. So passe.

And from the looks of the video below, she is pretty much keeping in character of being fashionably trendy (she wasn’t even born in the 90s!), hanging out in dark clubs and acting older than she really is.

So is it a buy or don’t buy?

Don’t Buy:
- Seems to keep the character stereotype
- Would be irrelevant without Gossip Girl
- She’s 16

Buy:
- It’s not bad, musically
- She’s 16

What do you guys think? If Serena were to create a music career, what would it sound like? I think Dan would be some kind of spoken word stuff, or Moby be-a-like.

Also, Leighton Meester aka Blaire is also getting on the scene… but I’m waiting to pass judgement. She is featured in this Cobra Starship song. Yes, the same band that became popular due to Snakes on the Plane… so…
