Buy Or Don’t Buy

With every new release, whether it be stills, leaked video, trailers, posters and just general information, I fall more and more in love with this Spike Jonze project.

So it’s no surprise that when a new trailer came out this morning, it only sealed the deal that this film would fall under the category of a pre-order.  Check it below:

Let’s go through why this is GOING to be a buy:

• Spike Jonze is directing. Just look at his past work: Adaptation, Being John Malkovich
• It’s one of my favorite books
• The story is already surreal, so it’s unlikely that it will break or ruin the classic tale
• It has a great cast
• It looks and feels great
• In screen tests to children, they were afraid

The Don’t Buy potential:

• Hyped out (I doubt it)
• Mainstreamed to the point of annoyance
• Too artsy (Like Michel Gondry)
