Don’t Buy: Portman as Elizabeth Bennet
You know how Natalie Portman is the face of the ultimate indie-mainstream cross over. She’s cute, smart, vegetarian and a “serious actress”? Well, over the years I’ve liked her less and less. I can’t remember the last movie where it was her role that really made me like the movie. Can you?
But regardless of my personal feelings, she seems to have been marketed into a serious and seriously hot actress. She’s cute. At best. And in Garden State, she liked Zach Braff, so she has low standards. Gross.
But this post has a point. She will both produce and star as Elizabeth Bennet in the zombie adaptation of the Austen classic, Pride and Prejudice. The adaption, which Buy or Don’t Buy covered, goes by the similar name of Pride and Prejudice and Zombies. And I think I speak on behalf of all the BuyOrDon’tBuy writers, we love our zombies and they better be done right.

If there is one thing I hate about Natalie Portman is her fear acting. Her doe-eyes just don’t do it for me. So be prepared for doe-eyeness and the annoyance of her faux dated accent. I think Keira Knightly would have been a much better Elizabeth Bennet. Who do you think could pull of this period piece zombie film?

I agree, she sucks. Name a single movie she was really good in…you can’t. The Professional doesn’t count.
She also sucks for comparing meat eaters to rapists, and then signing a petition in defense of AN ACTUAL RAPIST.
